Fun fact: Endpages, also known as endpapers or endsheets, are the folded sheets of paper at the front and back of a hardcover book that hold the outer rigid cover to the inner pages. They offer binding support and prevent the cover boards from warping, holding the heavy book block (all the pages) securely inside the hard cover case. The “pastedown” is glued flat against the inside front or back cover. The “flyleaf” is the remaining free, unglued half of the sheet that turns like a normal page before you reach the title page or at the very end of the book.
